This is a showroom, of sorts. It's a working, growing, sometimes-chaotic garden — and that's exactly the point. It changes every day.

At America Way Seed & Soil Co., we believe growing food should feel possible. Our Garden Gate Experience is a chance to walk through our 20-foot cattle panel trellis garden, see ten varieties of pole beans climbing toward the sky, touch the vines, ask every question you've been holding onto, and leave with the feeling that you could do this too.

We designed this experience for people who've thought about gardening — but haven't quite started yet. Or people who are growing already but want to see what's possible with a little more structure and experimentation. It’s also fun for the experienced gardener who likes to see things growing a little wild.

One hour. One garden (well, there’s actually two). Endless inspiration and photo opportunities!

What’s Growing Right Now

Our Jamestown trellis garden is always changing with the season. Here's what you can expect to find when you visit:

• 9 Varieties of Pole Beans — Magic Beans, winged beans, purple podded, yard-long, and more. Each one a little different. All of them climbing.

• Vining Cantaloupe & Watermelon — Growing right up the cattle panel, doing their best to defy gravity in the most delicious way.

• Sweet & Fancy Pumpkins — On the trellis and a couple sprawling and cheerful, making their way across the garden floor.

• Honey Nut Squash — Compact, nutty, and incredibly photogenic.

• Cucumber — The overachiever of the trellis.

• Tomatoes — 2 varieties sun-warmed and growing strong.

• Luffas — Yes, the kind you use in the bath. Growing right here in the garden. Did you know they are also edible?

• Sunflowers - Some as high as 12 feet tall.

Every visit is a little different. That's what makes it worth coming back.

Tucked in the background of the trellis garden is our tiny house cottage shed — a quaint, storybook-style structure that frames the whole garden beautifully. It's the kind of moment that makes you reach for your phone.

Here's how the hour goes.

You'll arrive at the garden gate and be welcomed in by your host. The tour moves at a comfortable pace — there's no rushing here.

We'll walk the full 20-foot trellis, talking through each plant, how it grows, why we chose it, and what surprised us along the way. You'll learn what a cattle panel trellis actually is and why it changed everything for us. You'll get to touch the luffas (yes, you want to).

You’ll also get a peek at our “Kitchen Garden” which, among other things also has a small trellis. The Kitchen Garden grows quite wild. It’s where the experiments take place and where the sunflowers tower over the house.

There's space for questions — lots of them. That's kind of the whole point.

You'll leave with:

• A sense of what's actually possible in a small growing space

• At least one good photo

• Probably a new favorite vegetable (honey nut squash, we're looking at you)

• A little more confidence than when you arrived

• As nature allows, pick your own veggies for purchase!

What to wear: Comfortable shoes you don't mind getting a little earthy. The garden is alive and well-used.
